Wildlife Crime Control Cell

The Wildlife Crime Control Cell has been functioning at Circle Level at Office of the Regional Chief Conservator of Forests, Koraput Circle, Koraput and also Wildlife Squad engaged in Koraput and Laxmipur ranges for protection of Wildlife

Forest Fire Control :-

During this year, there are 335 Nos. of Fire Points over an area of 175.165 Ha . In this Division regarding Forest Fire occurrences from 02.02.2018 to 31.03.2018 has been received from Forest Survey of India and action are being taken for control the Ground Forest Fire. The Fire occurrences in the above Forest area ( Forest & Revenue Forests ) only due to Podu Cultivation by the Tribal People of the concerned locality of Koraput Forest Division.

Seedlings distribution 2017-18 :-

2,78,000 in Numbers of seedlings has been distributed to the peoples during the year 2017-18 in different villages of Koraput Sub-division to plant the same in their own land for encourage the villages to protect the Trees and Forests of their areas.

Involvement of VSS under AJY :-

There are 160 Van Surakshya Samittee(VSS) formed during 2017-18 under Ama Jungle Yozana (AJY) in this Division i.e. Koraput Sub-Division . They are protecting minimum 40to 50Ha. of Forest area of their villages for better growth of Natural Forests. Also they are planting different seedlings in their own lands to promote the villagers. They are helping the Forest departments to control the Fire from forests during Fire Seasons.

Sacred Grooves :-

Sacred Grooves i.e. Worship place of Tribal Villages are maintained with Fencing, Stone Wall, Plantation activities in and around the Worship places, Heritage Stone fixing, providing Permanent Water Sources during the Years as noted against each Year:.
