District Intelligence Bureau, Koraput is functioning at District Headquarter, Koraput near the Residential office of the Superintendent of Police, Koraput under the supervision of DSP,DIB, Koraput under the seal and signature of the Superintendent of Police , Koraput . Functions of the DIB is to make security arrangements during visit programme of VVIP like C.M., P.M., Governor, President, Ms.P.,Ms.L.A. and other dignitaries. Collection of intelligence and maintenance of Law and Order situation in the district by deputing force from headquarter with direction to local Is.I.C. and SDPOs in co-ordination with District Administration on different occasions like fairs and festivals, agitations etc.. Security arrangements are made during election process like election of Parliament Members, Members of Legislative Assembly and all other miscellaneous elections. District Security Control Room is functioning round the clock in DIB Koraput manned by officers and men to keep track on the situation of the district for 24 hours and prepare daily situation reports daily and submit to the higher quarters. District intelligence bureau keep watch on the activities of different political agitators, anti-social history sheeters, student agitators, anti-national activists, security suspects , services association , labour unions etc.
Besides, preparation of daily reports, other reports like weekly joint situation report, Fortnight situation reports and monthly statements on different subjects are prepared and submitted to the higher quarters under the seal and signature of the superintendent of Police, Koraput. Periodically returns- monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly statements on different subjects are prepared and sent to the higher quarters.

Employment verification reports:-
Verification of character and antecedents of the newly appointed employees are being done through Is.I.C. concerned and sent to the appropriate authority in time as per Odisha Right To Public Services Act.
Passport verification reports:-
Applications are received from Passport Office, Bhubaneswar for issue of passport in favour of applicant and character and antecedents of the applicants are done through Is.I.C concerned and sent to passport office through online service under passport seva project.
Gun license verification report:-
Applications of Gun license applicants for issue/ Renewal of Arms license are received from ADM, Koraput and verification is done through IIC and SDPO concerned and sent to the ADM, Koraput for action.
Explosive license verification reports:-
Applications of Explosive license applicants for issue/ Renewal of explosive license are received from ADM, Koraput and verification is done through IIC concerned and sent to the ADM, Koraput for action.
Foreigner Registration:
Applications for registration of foreigners are received and registration, visa extension, exit permit are being done and submitted to MHA, New Delhi through online under IVFRT project in time as per Odisha Right To Public Services Act. Foreigners tracking also being done and submitted to Tourist Officer, Koraput.
Maintenance of Anti- Social History sheets and Card Index:-
Personal files of Anti-social history sheeters and Card Index of different Anti-social activists are maintained getting reports from Is.I.C. concerned.
Promulgation of 30 Police Act.
Promulgation of 30 Police act. is circulated among the Is.I.C. and SDPOs of the district after getting sanction order from the District Magistrate and Collector, Koraput in every 06 months duration.
District Security Control Room:-
District Security control room is functioning round the clock manned by officer and constable and collect intelligence/ information regarding law and order, location of VIPs/ Dignitaries and miscellaneous incidents in the district and enters in DSCR register and informs to higher quarters.
